Non-surgical disposable isolation gown for Minimal-to-Low Barrier Protection that can be manufactured with 2 mil plastic sheeting. It can be fabricated with tools as simple as a knife and hair drier or as sophisticated as a CNC fabric cutter or die cutter and a heat sealer.
This is a non-surgical gown intended to protect the wearer from the transfer of microorganisms and bodily fluids in low- or minimal-risk patient isolation situations and is not intended for use during surgical procedures, invasive procedures, or when there is a medium or high risk of contamination. This is a Level 1 or 2 disposable isolation gown.
The product is not recommended to be used in surgical setting or where significant exposure to liquid bodily or other hazardous fluids may be expected. Do not use in a clinical setting where Level 3 or 4 protection is warranted. Do not use in the presence of high intensity heat source or flammable gas.
This gown was created as a response to help foster the availability of non-surgical disposable isolation gowns during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
