PPE Face Shield with Forehead Protection was extensively reviewed and approved by infectious disease experts, clinicians, and engineers. This printable design is also fully compatible with injection moldable with thermoplastics to enable a highly scalable solution that provides more splash protection, usage configurations, durability, compatibility with hospital grade disinfectants, and prolonged comfort for the frontline health care workers. The injection molding design comprises of two interlocking parts, while the 3D print set is provided in one solid part. DWG file is included for fabrication of Clear Front shield with sheet of transparent polymer material. Cord or rubber band below 6mm diameter are compatible with the headgear. This headband allows adequate room for various designs of surgical masks and N95 respirators, and protection of forehead from droplet. The front bill further prevents droplets and aerosol from entering the gap between the clear shield and head frame. Anterior placement of the strap holder, and posterior location of the strap opening, combine to provide more stability and more long term comfort than single strap holder designs. Designed by YunChang Lee, PhD and Prof. Ben Wu, DDS, PhD from UCLA Bioengineering, UCLA School of Dentistry, and Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Bioengineering. Many people from UCLA COVID PPE^2 team contributed to getting this mass produced for our front line health care providers
