This 3D mold makes it easy to block a zebra finch brain for cutting sections on a plane that includes all the major subdivisions of the zebra finch auditory pallium and preserves axonal interconnections. The design was developed by Chelsea Haakenson and C Daniel Meliza, and was inspired by Wang, Y., Brzozowska-Prechtl, A., & Karten, H. J. (2010). Laminar and columnar auditory cortex in avian brain.
