Hand segmented from the National Library of Medicine Visible Human Male photographic cryo images from the 70mm camera. The original resolution was 4096 x 2700 pixels.
These models were created using vtkDiscreteMarchingCubes but are further processed by the vtkWindowedSincPolyDataFilter. This smoothing filter applies the windowed sinc smoothing filter directly to the polygonal vertices. Recently, we enhanced the smoothing filter to handle contact surfaces. This guarantees that the smoothed surfaces will remain in contact between adjacent surfaces. Information about the Visualization Toolkit, vtk is available here: http://vtk.org
