These models are NOT intended for 3D Printing.
The following models were generated for TB in 3D in NIAID's TB Portals as part of World TB Day 2022. This case can be displayed in the TB in 3D viewer by selecting case 312 from the TB in 3D Gallery.
This case has 3 timepoints included. Details about the case can be found in the TB Portals Case Browser.
Manual segmentations were done in 3D Slicer using thresholding tools and brushes. 3D surfaces were exported from 3D Slicer then processed in Pixologic ZBrush. This processing included smoothing of lung surfaces, removal of artifacts and undesired features, and reduction polygon number for optimal browser rendering.
AI segmentations (where available) were done using an AI based segmentation service developed by the Biomedical Image Analysis Group, United Institute of Informatics Problems, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. 3D surfaces were created in 3D Slicer, then the resulting meshes were decimated to reduce the polygon number while minimally affecting surface boundaries.
Note: structures inside the lung lobes have been UVd and include AO maps.
